"The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched,
they must be felt with the heart."
Hellen Keller

All mums-to-be and new mums can benefit from one of the beautiful treatments that we offer. Whether you are in need of a massage to ease your aching muscles or a pedicure to pamper those toes that you just can't reach, we have a treatment just for you. For pedicures and other treatments, please refer to our treatment menu.

There are some myths surrounding beauty and complementary therapies. Many women believe that if you are pregnant, it is unsafe to have treatments. You can have any treatment providing your pregnancy is safe (not threatened) and once we have gone through a consultation with you. I will conduct a full consultation with you on your first visit and I will check this with you every time you come for a treatment. Providing that everything is fine we can go ahead with treatment. We may ask for your doctors approval if any concerns are raised. Many women enjoy massage, pedicures, aromatherapy and reflexology during pregnancy, and really benefit from the time they are taking to relax. They enjoy shorter labours and quicker recovery times. After their baby has been born many mums enjoy time to recover, by experiencing the bliss of a massage.

Labour Massage workshop (65)
The birth partner of your choice is taught how to massage during labour to ease pain and relax the birthing mother. The workshop lasts between 2 and 3 hours, and we discuss many methods of massage and the pros and cons of the different massage techniques. After some introduction and discussion with you, we get started on the practical demonstration of the massage techniques. Includes a labour massage blend of your choice.

Kate and Paul Terroni attended this workshop, and this is what they had to say about it...
"My husband and I attended this session about four weeks before my due date and found it incredibly helpful. The session covered the benefits of massage during labour, practical tips on techniques and good positions to use during labour, discussion about the different types of oils and their benefits and some advice on massages that could help prior to giving birth and after. We left the course with written direction on all of the techniques and an oil specially blended for pregnancy / labour.

Before going into labour my husband Paul was able to use the tools we had learnt to help with my swollen hands and feet and to give relaxing shoulder massages to help me sleep. During a very long labour (totalling 27 hours) he spent a good proportion of this massaging my back which was comforting and beneficial to me and it also gave him a practical role to fulfil. Since having my baby I have been experiencing backache which he has also used the skills learnt during this course to help with.

Laura, who ran this course, was very informative and she provided us with the space to ask questions and clarify the techniques. I would recommend this session to other pregnant couples who are interested in learning about different ways of pain relief during labour and massage to alleviate aches and pain prior and after giving birth."
